Victor Spahn was born in Paris on March 20, 1949.
Passionate about drawing from a young age, he finished his schooling early. Working as a waiter, bellboy at the Claridge, and then as an employee at a ceramic manufacturer, young Spahn finally found his first path.
He started his own ceramic company in 1968, designing his own tiles. This led him to New York, where he won a first prize for a mosaic table.
During an exhibition, he met André Lanskoy (both men share Russian ancestry) and became his student.
Soon after, Spahn began exhibiting. Through trade shows, galleries, competitions, he was active, painting according to encounters, searching, and "finding" himself in the early 80s as he approached sports and movement.
First golf, as well as polo, then tennis (Poster of the first Paris Bercy Open in 1986) brought him international recognition. He is now exhibited all over Europe, as well as in Chicago and Montreal.
In 1987, new posters for the Handball World Championship, then for the Peugeot Golf Open, and then for the Polo World Championship in Deauville. Sought after, admired, Spahn's visuals enter the collective unconscious and now the artist is recognized as the specialist in the expression of sports movements.
Starting in 2007, he also began to put his vision of landscapes on canvas. Commissioned by very large brands (Lexus or Lancell) to create events for the launch of a new product, Spahn proves to be an artist of his time, fully embracing his ability to be on the border between art and promotion.
