Jean-Claude QUILICI was born in Marseille in 1941.
He was a student of the Fine Arts at a very young age, and before his twentieth year, he participated in a large number of exhibitions. The 1960s were marked by numerous Painting Awards.
From the early 1970s, it was first the United States, then Japan, that celebrated this "regionalist" painter who exported his Provence everywhere in the world, taking with him some of the light and colors that make up his work.
In addition to his classic work on canvas and significant lithographic production, Jean-Claude QUILICI also took an interest in fresco work, notably for the University of Corte (in Corsica) or for the subway of the city of Marseille (a fresco 130 meters long on enameled metal).
A Provencal painter if there ever was one, QUILICI is an artist who, going beyond this simple geographical belonging, has composed a warm work, without ever losing the rigor that is the hallmark of the great ones...
