One can find affiliations with Jacques de Loustal (with whom he collaborates regularly), but also probably with François Avril, for this way of rethinking space and absolving oneself from the rules of comic books.
His thick, black, strong line, to which he adds powerful, smoky grays, as if straight out of a Fritz Lang dream. It is this black, this reinvented density that is the hallmark of Götting.
Even in color, Götting is immediately recognizable. He navigates the drawing like a sower of ideas, sensations, leaving here and there the trace of his journey, of his understanding of the moment, of space. Strongly influenced by the 50s, his drawing is not without having borrowed from Bernard Buffet's early years...
