This is after a deep depression that Niki de Saint-Phalle begins to paint, to the psychiatric hospital. The Naive art is her first mode of expression and her first works are compared to the work of Jean Dubuffet.

Jean Tinguely (her second husband) and the New Realists with whom she shares the Happenings and the exhibitions (Ben, Restany, Klein and Christo).
